A Sense of Wonder

An introduction to the fundamental principles governing the natural and man-made environment. The focus was on what Louis Kahn refers to as “the sense of wonder” as we investigate, ponder and respond to the work of an artist. I choose Georges Roualut’s Christ on Cross, circa 1939, for its abstract qualities and strong black outlines that emphasize Christ’s body.

Fragmenting the painting into tangible layers consisting of wood, metal, and plexiglass. A process of exploring the object into different surroundings.
